'Agreement is imminent': Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea close to signing another young talent after Dujuan Richards

Chelsea are close signing Independiente del Valle midfielder Kendry Paez after completing a deal for young Jamaican forward Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards, according to Fabrizio Romano.

On Saturday, Jamaica-based Phoenix Allstars Football Academy confirmed that their talent Richards has signed a pre-contract with Chelsea.

According to Chronicle Live, the 17-year-old had been very close to agreeing a deal with Newcastle United, having already undergone a two-week trial with the club, before he eventually chose the Blues.

Richards, who registered 31 goals and 19 assists for the academy side last season, recently received his first senior call-up for Jamaica.

The goalscoring talent, however, is reportedly not the only deal Chelsea are currently working on.

Romano claims that Chelsea are now on the verge of securing a deal for Ecuadorian talent Paez.

“Last week I told you about Kendry Paez, born in 2007,” the Italian journalist explained on his YouTube channel.

“This boy will be a Chelsea player very soon.

“The agreement is imminent. They’re working on the final details of the deal.

“He will play for Chelsea once he turns 18, it’s the same with Richards.”

At 15, Paez has recently been promoted to Independiente del Valle’s first team and marked his senior debut with a goal in February.

This makes him the youngest debutant and goalscorer in Ecuadorian top-flight history.
