Report: Chelsea still really trying find way to sign 23-year-old but he’s going to be so expensive
Reports have claimed that Chelsea are still looking for a way to try and sign Joao Felix on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
According to The Athletic, the club are aware that the deal is going to be extremely expensive to pull off.
The Portugal international has impressed more than many would have believed in his loan spell currently at Stamford Bridge.
Despite only scoring the one goal since moving, that has been more a story of Chelsea’s lack of confidence in front of goal as a team as appose to his personal abilities.
In fact, Felix has been the catalyst for the majority of attacks in West London.
Supporters will be hoping he has got his best performance yet ready for tonight, as they prepare to try and keep their season alive.
Chelsea still really want to sign Felix
The Blues are currently looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Borussia Dortmund.
They were made to pay for missed chances in Germany a few weeks’ ago, and Felix was perhaps the one many would point at as missing the most glaring opportunity.
However, there’s no doubt that he will start tonight, where a section of the majority of the new players’ salaries could be differed if they are knocked out.
While Felix has stayed tight-lipped over his future, the Athletic have claimed he is enjoying his time at Stamford Bridge, as discussions begin over a permanent deal.
This is despite the dire form the club have found themselves in, which has coincided with major pressure on Graham Potter.
Anything other than victory tonight will surely be the end of the manager’s reign, which would see him leave with the lowest win percentage in recent years in West London.
