Ben Chilwell breaks silence on Twitter after his red card last night
Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has taken to Twitter to apologise to his teammates and supporters after his red card last night.
The England international was sent off in the second half against Real Madrid after Rodrygo found himself in on goal.
The incident sparked from a mishap by substitute Marc Cucurella, who looked like he was struggling to get up to speed with things after replacing Kalidou Koulibaly.

Going down to 10 men essentially killed off any attacking threat that the visitors had last night, leaving Frank Lampard having to make numerous changes to at least keep the tie alive.
The sending off will mean that Chilwell will be unable to feature in the second leg of the quarter-final, which holds all of the importance remaining for Chelsea this season.
In an underwhelming domestic season to say the least, the Blues have always been able to look to Europe as their area to impress.
However, missing the Englishman next week will be huge. He has been arguably their most consistent performer since he returned from injury.
He has now taken to Twitter to offer his apology for what he believes was a mistake made in a split second decision.
He said: “Slept on it, and just want to apologise to my team mates and the fans. I made a decision in a split second last night and it was a mistake. I always give everything for the team and I will continue to do so. Thank you for your support.”
It will be interesting to see if Lampard looks to a new left-back for the weekend’s game against Brighton in the Premier League in order to try and get another candidate up to speed in time for the second leg next week.
