‘Top class’: Ally McCoist thinks Chelsea should hire 51-year-old manager instead of Julian Nagelsmann
Pundit Ally McCoist has claimed that Chelsea would be better off hiring Mauricio Pochettino than Julian Nagelsmann as their next manager.
He told TalkSPORT that the Argentine will have a hunger to succeed after a brief period out of the game and the Premier League.
Pochettino has recently emerged as the clear favourite for the job after talks have been reportedly going well in the opening stages.

The former Tottenham and PSG boss has been given a clear path to the role after a number of other candidates have begun to fall by the wayside.
One of those has been Nagelsmann, who was originally touted by many to be the favourite for the job after being sacked by Bayern Munich.
McCoist recommends Pochettino
With his desire to return to management this summer, it looked perfect for him to replace Frank Lampard who is temporarily in charge.
However, it has since emerged that he has ruled himself out of the running as other candidates emerged.
McCoist has now claimed that Chelsea would be far better off hiring Pochettino than the German.

He said: “I think he’s a top class coach, I really do. I like the way his teams play, you think what he did with that Tottenham side made them a very attractive side to watch, took them to a Champions League final.
“He clearly knows the league, knows his football. He’ll be very hungry at this moment in time, and I actually prefer Pochettino to Nagelsmann. Surely you’d think there’s a better group of players at Chelsea than at Spurs, the only problem at Chelsea is you have to get players out.”
Pochettino is likely to be handed the job in June, allowing him a full pre-season with his players to try and turn things around.
