Chris Sutton makes very interesting prediction for Chelsea’s game against Manchester City on Sunday

Chris Sutton has predicted Chelsea are going to suffer a heavy beating at the hands of Manchester City this weekend.

He told BBC Sport that the Blues will be beaten 5-0 on the day their opponents will be crowned Premier League champions.

It is set to be a difficult end to the campaign for Chelsea as they prepare to face three of the top four to round off what has been a dire season in all competitions.

Players will for sure be solely playing for their places next season, when it is expected that Mauricio Pochettino will be in charge of the side.

Challenges however do not come more difficult right now than the test of City, who just dominated Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.

Sutton predicts City vs Chelsea

Sutton has not predicted an enjoyable afternoon for Frank Lampard’s side, claiming they will be on the wrong end of a dominant result.

He said: “City could be crowned champions on Saturday if Arsenal lose at Forest but they are going to want to go out and smash Chelsea regardless of whether they need to win this game to seal a hat-trick of titles.

“That’s what I think will happen, too. From what I have seen of Chelsea, they don’t have an identity, or much of a plan. They have got some very good individual players but they are not a team and there are times when they look like a mess.

“City will make some changes and bring in people like Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez, but they will still win easily. 5-0.”

Signs of improvement will only be what Chelsea fans are looking for this weekend, with them not expecting any form of result from the Etihad.
