Four big new signings all start: Mauricio Pochettino’s predicted Chelsea XI on opening day
Mauricio Pochettino certainly has a job on his hands to turn around the fortunes of Chelsea ahead of next season.
He is taking over a team who finished 12th this season, and hardly ever started the same team twice as they struggled with injuries and form.

However, reports already over a number of transfer targets may begin to be bringing optimism back to Stamford Bridge.
So, whoever they face, here is our predicted XI for Chelsea’s first league game under Pochettino.
GK and Defence

In goal is where we see our first new face, and we think Andre Onana will be the figure the Blues spend the big money on to sign.
Hopefully fully fit and raring to go, Reece James will start the season on the right of a back four system.
Alongside him, Wesley Fofana will be hoping for an uninterrupted pre-season and far less injury worries next year.
While Levi Colwill will be pushing for a start, the experience of Thiago Silva will be called upon for the opening game of the season.
Ben Chilwell will hold off the youth of Ian Maatsen and Lewis Hall to start on the left.
Midfield

Manuel Ugarte is reportedly of great interest to Chelsea, and he will be brought in to start as the defensive member of a midfield trio.
This will allow Enzo Fernandez to take up a far more attacking role alongside him in the middle of the park.
In front of those two, Christopher Nkunku will make his Chelsea debut behind the number nine, where he claims he plays best.
Attack

Raheem Sterling will be hoping to play a far more important role for the Blues this season, and he will start on the right.
One player hoping to learn the most from Pochettino is Myhailo Mudryk, and he will start on the other wing.
Down the middle, the marquee signing of Victor Osimhen is the player supporters will be hoping brings the goals to Stamford Bridge next season.
