Report: Chelsea have worked hard on scouting 22-year-old, they previously wanted to sign his brother

Reports have claimed that Chelsea have worked hard on scouting Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

According to 90min, the Blues have made plenty of efforts to watch the 22-year-old this season in Ligue 1.

It has certainly been a breakout season for Thuram, who has placed himself near the top of the list for a number of elite sides who are looking to bring in a midfielder this summer.

Premier League rivals Liverpool are reportedly very interested in a deal, as they potentially deal with missing out on long-term transfer target and current Blue Mason Mount.

Chelsea are certainly in the market for a central midfielder this summer, as they look to rebuild to the required level for Mauricio Pochettino to mount a challenge next season.

Chelsea scouting Thuram

They have been linked with a number of candidates, however the strongest links as of yet have revolved around Sporting Lisbon star Manuel Ugarte.

However, Thuram’s name can now be added to the list of potential targets following a strong season in Ligue 1.

The family will be one Chelsea chiefs and scouts are now familiar with, after they made an effort to sign the midfielder’s brother, Marcus in January.

The striker was entering the final few months of his contract at the time with Borussia Monchengladbach, however opted to stay in order to assess his options better this summer.

Chelsea’s search for a striker reportedly hasn’t led them back to the Frenchman, with them instead considering other players.

One of these has been Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, however the club are safe in the knowledge that they will likely have to smash their own transfer record again in order to get that deal over the line.
