Here we go: Chelsea reach full agreement with club to sell 22m hes already agreed personal terms Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea have now reached a full verbal agreement with Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli over the sale of Edouard Mendy.

He took to Twitter to state that the deal was now set to be complete after the player already agreed personal terms with the club last week over a three-year deal.

It seems as if Mendy’s brief time at Stamford Bridge is now set to come to an end, less than two years after he was announced as the best goalkeeper in Europe.

Last season saw the £22m Senegal international spend a prolonged period on the bench after not being favoured by manager Graham Potter.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was handed the gloves for the majority of the campaign, after impressing in his first few appearances under the Englishman.

Even after he was sacked, it was the Spain international who remained as the number one, seemingly putting an end to his time at Chelsea.

Romano has now claimed that after agreeing personal terms a few days ago, the two clubs have now made an agreement over the transfer.

He said: “Understand Chelsea have reached full verbal agreement with Saudi’s Al Ahli to sell Edouard Mendy.

“Mendy agreed personal terms with Al Ahli on three-year deal, as revealed last week. Contracts to be checked, then signed if all goes to plan. Here we go.”

A number of Saudi Arabian sides are looking to take a few Chelsea players off the club’s hands, after officially announcing this morning the free agent addition of N’golo Kante.

However, they are reportedly also closing in on deals for Hakim Ziyech and Kalidou Koulibaly, two players who were seemingly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
