'Interesting': Pochettino's staff are very excited about working with 23-year-old Chelsea player - journalist
Journalist Matt Law has claimed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino and his staff are very excited about working with Conor Gallagher.
He told the ‘London is Blue’ podcast that despite the chance the player leaves the club, the new boss believes the midfielder has a lot of qualities he can work with.
Many were expecting Gallagher to be one of the first names out the door this summer, due to the value he holds on the transfer market.

He was the subject of a big bid back in January, and a number of the sides in the Premier League would benefit from having the England international in their squad.
However, Law has claimed that Pochettino also believes his Chelsea side will benefit from keeping Gallagher.
Pochettino wants to work with Gallagher
He said: “Conor is an interesting situation. It is one to watch through the summer, because I’m told Poch and his staff think Conor has a lot of qualities that they can work with and that they’re quite excited about.
“But I’m also told it’s still not out the possibility that a very good bid for Conor would be considered, especially if by that point they’d brought in a Caicedo or someone else.

“Of course, Conor’s wishes come into this too and Chelsea’s incomings may relate to that. So I think that’s a really interesting one to watch because it could go one way or the other. He could be a project of Pochettino.”
The Blues have already lost some big key names in midfield this summer. N’golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have already secured their moves away from Stamford Bridge.
Unless they bring in at least two big names for the position, it would be recommended they keep hold of Gallagher for at least the first six months of next season.
