Report: 21-year-old star rejects chance to play for Thomas Tuchel he now only wants to join Chelsea
Reports have claimed that Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo now has his sights firmly set on joining Chelsea.
According to Sky Germany, the 21-year-old has rejected the chance to play for Bayern Munich next season.
It was certainly a standout campaign for Caicedo, with his brilliant performances helping his club to their first ever European qualification.
This brilliance has not seen him short of opportunities to leave the club, in a similar way to how he was offered them back in January.
One of the club’s interested then was Chelsea, however the month ended with the Ecuadorian signing a new contract to stay at the Amex.
It seems this was only a temporary measure though. The Blues, Arsenal and Bayern have all shown strong interest in bringing him in this summer.
Caicedo rejects Bayern for Chelsea
A move to Germany would have seen him handed the opportunity to work with a former Chelsea coach, and recent Bundesliga winner Thomas Tuchel.
However, recent reports have claimed he is set to reject that move in favour of remaining in England, in particular taking the trip to West London.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are desperate for midfield reinforcements as it looks as if their current crop are going to be decimated this summer.
N’golo Kante is reportedly very close to being announced as the next big name to take his talents over to Saudi Arabia, whilst Mateo Kovacic is pushing for a move to Manchester City.
The club are keen to bring in the right profile to partner Enzo Fernandez for the future, with many at Stamford Bridge very impressed with the World Cup winner despite the club’s dire campaign last time out.
Even if Caicedo is brought in, you’d think their work on midfielders would not yet be done.
