Report: Chelsea would likely be willing to pay more than 100m to sign 24-year-old who Enzo Fernandez really likes
Reports have claimed that Chelsea would be willing to pay big money in order to bring in Declan Rice this summer.
According to TeamTalk, the Blues would offer more than £100m in order to sign the midfielder ahead of Arsenal in this transfer window.
Chelsea have notably had Rice on their list of targets for a number of years now, with some at the club firmly knowing how much quality he has from his youth days at the club.
However, recent reports have stated that they have begun to fall behind in the race to sign him this summer, with local rivals Arsenal in pole position.
A deal for the Gunners would break their current transfer record, but after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title investment is key in North London.
Now though, recent reports have said they are looking to keep the deal below the £100m mark, a figure it claims the Blues are more than happy to clear to get the deal done.
One player that would be delighted with the acquisition would be Enzo Fernandez. The World Cup winner has made his praise for the England international very vocal.
It’s hard to say that the duo would not be arguably the best in the Premier League if the club if they were allowed to feature together in the top flight.
One individual who may not be so happy however would be Mason Mount, known largely as the best friend of Rice in football.
However, his dream of featuring alongside the West Ham man could be in tatters, with the Blue currently set to move to Manchester United if a deal can be agreed between the two teams.
