Report: What Mason Mount is going to do if he is not sold before Chelseas pre-season gets underway
Reports have claimed that Mason Mount will show up to pre-season duty as a Chelsea player if he has not yet been sold by the club.
According to The Telegraph, the England international is prepared to tell Mauricio Pochettino he will be completely committed to the club for however long he remains a member of the squad.
It has been widely claimed that Mount is adamant that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, after negotiations hit a large wall over a potential new deal.
The 24-year-old’s current deal expires in 12 months’ time, and every suggestion up to now claims that he will not be looking to extend that period of his career.
This is despite him being one of the most popular players in West London since he broke into the first team. He is also already a two-time player of the year at the club.
His efforts to leave have so far been nullified by Chelsea, who have up to now rejected three bids from Manchester United for his services.
Erik ten Hag is leading the interest in Mount, who has already come to an agreement on personal terms weeks ago.
While this is no doubt going to be frustrating for the player, who can leave for free next summer, it has now been claimed that he will to continue to give his all for however long he is a representative of Chelsea.
There may be a world where the Englishman having talks with new manager Pochettino sees him begin to change his mind about the Blues, potentially even just signing a short-term extension to his deal to see him have a chance to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.
