Report: Why Todd Boehly hesitated at last minute before accepting Arsenals bid for Kai Havertz
Reports have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly hesitated at the last minute before accepting a bid for Kai Havertz.
According to The Athletic, the fact he was the first Blue in the prime years of their career to make the move across London did not go unnoticed by the owner.
It seems as if Havertz’s time at Stamford Bridge is now set to come to an end, with him not exactly living up to the hope that came when he joined in 2020.

It will never be forgotten that he scored the only goal in Porto when the Blues won the Champions League in 2021, bringing many one of the best days in their footballing lives.
However, consistency has been a rarity in his game, and the lack of goals at Stamford Bridge can at least somewhat be left at his door.
The Germany international played the majority of minutes in the number nine role, and even though many will claim this is not his natural position, the lack of output remained inexcusable.
With hardly anyone untouchable at Stamford Bridge this summer, interest in Havertz was immediately taken seriously by the Blues, and Arsenal’s soon turned genuine.
Reports yesterday have stated that the German is about to join a growing list of players who have made the direct move from West to North London.

However, many that came before did so when not in the peaks of their career. The most recent name on that list is Jorginho.
The Blues would have been expecting to lose the Italy international for free this summer due to his reluctance to sign a new contract, so they were happy with the fee received for him back in January.
It remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta has the capabilities to get the best out of Havertz.
