Special: 17m player admits he cant wait to play with Enzo Fernandez at Chelsea
New Chelsea signing Kendry Paez has claimed that he cannot wait to play alongside Enzo Fernandez at Stamford Bridge.
He told ESPN that he is focusing on getting better right now in order to break through at Stamford Bridge following his recent move.
It was confirmed earlier this month that the Blues had signed the highly-rated youngster, with a deal potentially reaching £17m if add ons are met.
He won’t be in West London for a couple of years now, with his age seeing him not able to join for now.
However, supporters who were watching the U20 World Cup will have been impressed by a number of blues, with Paez and Cesare Casadei leading this brigade.
The Ecuadorian was even called up to the full national team for the upcoming international fixtures, however it has been reported he has been unable to secure his visa.
Paez excited to play with Fernandez
He has now claimed that he is still excited to feature for Chelsea, with the opportunity to play alongside Fernandez a real positive.
He said: “I don’t feel pressure, I am focused on Independiente, on the Libertadores and continue playing in the best way.
“To get there [Chelsea] well I have to keep working, be focused on studying. It will be something special to share things with players like Enzo, with other special ones.
“It’s wonderful, but now I’m focused on Independiente Del Valle. There are two years to go, I know it goes by quickly and I’ll keep doing my thing here.”
Fernandez has been sensational for the Blues since his January addition, with him already being described as the future of the club.
However, they are well aware that the Blues need to sign a midfielder this summer that allows him to regularly play in his best position.
