Report: Chelsea player left off the pre-season tour by Pochettino now destined to move to West Ham
Reports have claimed that Chelsea striker Armando Broja is now destined for a move across London to West Ham United.
According to Gazzetta, the Hammers are looking to bring in the 21-year-old to replace Gianluca Scamacca, who is wanted by Jose Mourinho and Roma.
When the first team squad as well as a host of youngsters made the journey to the United States for the pre-season tour, it was notable that Broja was not part of the group.
This is despite him putting in plenty of work to regain his fitness after a serious injury he suffered back in December.
In the break for the World Cup last winter, his season was brought to an end just as it looked like minutes were going to become genuinely achievable.
His coy message on social media will have done little to clarify his future at this stage, with it currently unclear what new manager Mauricio Pochettino is intending to do with him.
Broja wanted by West Ham
In last night’s pre-season opener against Wrexham, both Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku were used in the striker role. The pair both impressed, as the Frenchman found his first goal for the club.
It has now been claimed that the future for Broja may still be in the Premier League, with a move to West Ham very much in the realms of possibility.
Reports have continued to swirl that the Blues may not be finished in the transfer market this summer when it comes to bringing in attackers.
It has ben claimed they are very interested in the addition of Elye Wahi, with personal terms even seemingly being agreed between the two parties.
If a good fee can be acquired, it may make sense for Broja’s time at the club to come to an end this summer.
