'A perfect player’: Mauricio Pochettino now raves about £250k-a-week Chelsea player
Mauricio Pochettino has today been full of praise for Chelsea defender Reece James.
He claimed in his pre-match press conference that he sees a leader in the player, while also naming him as both the present and the future of the club.
It has been a big week for James, who has spent way more than half of his life at Chelsea as a player now.

He was named the new club captain by Pochettino after the pre-season campaign came to an end, with Ben Chilwell being named his deputy.
This is despite still having the experienced Thiago Silva in their ranks, who has more experience at the top then the rest of the squad combined.
Pochettino praises James
One hope for James is that he has been able to put his injury woes behind him. He has had his last two seasons badly affected by issues.
Nevertheless, it is a statement from the manager that he has handed a player who is just 23 years of age the opportunity to captain his boyhood club.
He has now claimed that he has been really impressed with both the player and the person since he came in.

He said: “He’s a player that can be a leader, his character, his qualities. He’s present and the future of the club. He’s a perfect player, person, to be captain.”
James recently signed a new contract worth £250k-a-week, making him one of the best paid players at the club.
However, with his quality on the pitch clear to see, there is no doubt that if he stays fit he is going to be huge for next season.
