Mauricio Pochettino already thinks he has one of the best talents in Europe at Chelsea – Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is already of the belief that he has one of the best players in Europe in his Chelsea squad.

He took to Twitter to say the manager believes that Levi Colwill is amongst the best talents in the entire game in his position.

A lot of talk this summer has surrounded Colwill, who had kept his cards close to his chest about where his future was going to see him end up.

He enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Brighton last season, with the Seagulls finishing way above the Blues in the race for European football.

They were keen to bring him in on a permanent basis, and the enjoyment he clearly had playing their last season must have convinced them that the player could help force a move through.

Pochettino convinced by Colwill

However, after meeting up with the rest of the Chelsea squad in pre-season and travelling to the United States, it seems as if he has been convinced that Stamford Bridge is the place to be for the centre-back.

Romano took to Twitter to state that the Englishman had signed his new contract with the club, with Pochettino extremely excited about the future with him.

He said: “Levi Colwill has signed new long term Chelsea deal valid until June 2029, as expected Colwill agreed new deal on Monday and documents are now signed.

“Pochettino considers Levi one of the best talented CB in the Europe. Sealed, completed.”

It was always expected that assurances from the manager would be key into him staying with the Blues, and it seems this may have been done as the club look to building their foundations around the Englishman.
