Report: Chelsea staff are really excited about £35m player they want to sign this summer

Reports have claimed that staff at Chelsea are really excited about the prospect of them signing Michael Olise this summer.

According to The Athletic, those at the club lead by Joe Shields in particular has shown a big interest in the player after discovering the talent years ago.

It has been reported that the Blues are considering making a bid for Olise in order to add strength in depth to their attack for next season.

This is potentially off the back of some underwhelming pre-season performances, none more so than Raheem Sterling.

The England international has endured a rough campaign in the United States, with many expecting him if anyone to be keen to bounce back from a tough season.

However, the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and even an out of position Ian Maatsen looking far more threatening than the man with more than 100 Premier League goals to his name.

It has been claimed today that the Crystal Palace winger would struggle to turn down a move to Stamford Bridge if it became the truth.

However, the clubs interested, who include Manchester City, are seemingly waiting to hear the effects of his recent injury suffered representing his country at U21 level.

Nevertheless, the Blues have members of staff that are extremely excited about the prospect of him being at the club.

His signing is likely to be rivalled by the club’s interest in bringing in Mohammed Kudus, who is currently trying to get himself a move away from Ajax.

Arsenal are also reportedly interested in signing him, however it has been claimed that the Blues are further along the line in terms of money than the Gunners.
