'Very good': Ben Foster admits he's been really impressed by £25m Chelsea player recently
Ben Foster claims Robert Sanchez has made a pretty solid start to his Chelsea career.
Robert Sanchez, who’s a talented Spanish goalkeeper, completed a £25million (BBC) transfer in this summer window from Brighton to Chelsea.
The 25-year-old Blues keeper has played in the opening three Premier League games, keeping his first clean sheet in last Friday’s 3-0 victory at home to Luton Town.
Incidentally, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed via the official website that Sanchez will be in the starting XI again for tomorrow’s Carabao Cup second round tie at home to AFC Wimbledon.

Ben Foster has been really impressed by what he’s seen from the new goalkeeper recently.
“He’s got off to a decent start to be fair. I’ve always liked Robert Sanchez. I’ve thought he’s a very good goalkeeper. Good shot-stopper, good with his feet. He just needs to find something that really works for him. I think he’ll do a decent job for Chelsea this year,” Foster said on his YouTube channel.

This clean slate in Chelsea’s goal was badly needed this season because there was too much baggage with the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.
Sanchez has arrived from Brighton’s bench straight into the Chelsea XI, but he looks an assured presence in net behind the defence. In particular, he’s gathering commanding aerial crosses into his penalty box fairly convincingly, something that his predecessors struggled with.
A lot of money has been spent by the Blues to strengthen other areas of the pitch, but they managed to pick up Sanchez for a modest £25m. We’ll be interested to see if this turns out to be one of their bargain buys under this ownership.
