'Had some concerns': Chelsea were put off by £67m player's injury record - journalist
Chelsea had concerns about Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic’s injury record.
That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
He recently stated in his Substack column for CaughtOffside that while Chelsea do admire Dusan Vlahovic, they “had some concerns” about his injury record and that is one reason why they opted against signing him in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea’s decision not to bring in Vlahovic means Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja are the only two natural centre-forwards at the club right now.

Both players are quite young and inexperienced, so not signing Vlahovic or another striker like him could easily end up backfiring on the Blues.
In fact, it looks like it already has, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men struggling to score goals this season. Jackson has netted just once since arriving at Stamford Bridge, while Broja is yet to make his comeback from his cruciate ligament injury.
Chelsea could do with Dusan Vlahovic now
Vlahovic has had some injury problems recently, but the fit version of the Serbian, Chelsea really need something like that at this moment in time.

Vlahovic, who cost Juventus £66.6m, scored 24 goals in 36 Serie A appearances back in the 2021/22 season. It shows when the 23-year-old is at peak physical condition and playing, he can find the back of the net.
Chelsea had their doubts about him, though, and are going to have to rely on someone else to fix this issue that they have in attack, with the team scoring just five times in the top flight so far.
