'Not at his best': Pochettino tells 22-year-old Chelsea player to improve despite promising Arsenal display
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino thinks Mykhailo Mudryk can still improve despite his goal against Arsenal yesterday.
Mykhailo Mudryk put Chelsea 2-0 up against Mikel Arteta’s men after his cross found the back of the net, but Mauricio Pochettino told football.london and other outlets after the game that the winger is not at his best yet.
In the end, it was a disappointing evening for the Blues, with Arsenal managing to make it 2-2 and take a point away from Stamford Bridge.

Robert Sanchez allowed the Gunners back into the match after Declan Rice managed to capitalise on his mistake, which saw the goalkeeper come in for criticism. Leandro Trossard then managed to grab the all-important equaliser for his side.
Mykhailo Mudryk can still improve despite Arsenal goal
While that was definitely one of Mudryk’s better performances for Chelsea, Pochettino still feels that the 22-year-old is not at his best.
When asked about his decision to take him off in the second half, the Argentine told football.london and the rest of the English media: “I think he is playing well but also he needs to improve still. For me he is not at his best.
“I think we needed to change and to put a bit more of pressure on Nicolas Jackson up front.”
Mykhailo Mudryk’s stats after Arsenal game
Mudryk’s goal against Arsenal means he has now scored two times in eight Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season.
Last term, the Ukrainian failed to find the back of the net in 15 top-flight outings following his arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk, so he really is improving.

However, it appears that Pochettino still wants more from the Ukraine international, who recently grabbed his first goal for his country.
Next up for Mudryk and Chelsea is another London derby against Brentford and we think the wide man has definitely done enough to keep his spot in the team.
Perhaps Mudryk can do more, but the former Shakhtar man is still offering something to Chelsea at the moment and should thus be starting games for them.
