'This is his chance': Robbie Fowler now says he wouldn't blame £80m player for joining Chelsea
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler says he would not blame Brentford striker Ivan Toney for joining Chelsea or Arsenal.
Ivan Toney has been linked to both London clubs and Robbie Fowler, writing in his column for the Daily Mirror, can understand why he would want to join either side.
The 27-year-old is yet to play a game for Brentford this season because of a ban but really impressed last term.

In 33 Premier League appearances, he scored 20 goals.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea and Arsenal are both considering a January swoop for Toney, who could cost £80m.
Robbie Fowler understands Ivan Toney’s motives
While Brentford have done well in the Premier League since earning promotion, Fowler still thinks a move elsewhere could be good for Toney.
“No doubt both Arsenal and Chelsea offer the chance to do that [improve his level],” the former Liverpool striker said.
He later went on to add: “This is his chance to go to a top club and play the best years of his career at the very top level. I can’t blame him for that — though again, his timing is senseless, and there are better ways of doing it.”
Hard to say no
We think it will be hard for Toney to say no to Chelsea or Arsenal in the new year.
The biggest stumbling block is probably Brentford, but the Bees do look prepared to do business as long as their valuation of the player is met.

£80m is a lot of money, but in a market where midfielders are going for much more, Chelsea should consider paying it.
They need a new centre-forward and Toney will be one of the best on the market. Five goals in six league games, a record like that is not going to get Mauricio Pochettino’s side anywhere.
It is exactly why Chelsea need to bring in a proven No.9 at the earliest opportunity.
