'As quickly as possible': 24-year-old admits he was in a rush to leave Chelsea for his new club
Kai Havertz was desperate to leave Chelsea for Arsenal during the summer.
Arsenal signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea at the end of June and he has been speaking about his move and career so far in an interview with Bleacher Report.
It has not been an easy start to life in north London for the 24-year-old, but things went well for him in the Gunners’ last outing.
He was introduced in the second half of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Brentford on Saturday and scored his side’s winning goal at the death.
Arriving from London rivals Chelsea, Havertz feels he still needs to win the trust of Arsenal supporters.
Kai Havertz wanted Arsenal move to be done quickly
Havertz was eager to join Arsenal once the opportunity presented itself.
On his move to Mikel Arteta’s side, he told Bleacher Report: “The whole process was just nice. I had some chats with Edu and with the manager, and all the chats were amazing and they gave me such a good feeling. So I just wanted to do it as quickly as possible. Maybe that’s why it happened so fast.”

Why was Kai Havertz so desperate to join Arsenal?
There are probably many reasons. One has to be the fact that the two clubs are heading in opposite directions.
While Chelsea have been on a decline recently, Arsenal have ascended to the top of English football with Manchester City the only team standing in their way these days.
They are playing in the Champions League again, whereas Chelsea are not competing in Europe at all.
There is also a lot of stability at Arsenal as well with Arteta still at the helm, while Havertz’s former club continue to chop and change.
At this stage of his career, maybe that is something that the Germany international felt he needed. If so, he was wise to join the Gunners, as he was never going to get it at Chelsea.
Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have already sacked Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter since arriving at the club, while Mauricio Pochettino is now starting to come under increasing pressure after a really poor start to the season.
