Fabrizio Romano shares what he has just heard about Mauricio Pochettino's future as Chelsea manager
Fabrizio Romano has now given Chelsea fans an update on the future of manager Mauricio Pochettino.
He took to YouTube to state that those in charge at the club still have full faith in the Argentine, and believe he is the right man to take them into the future.
Pochettino let his mask slip for the first time this season following the embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.
He was forced to watch from the stands after it emerged that he would be serving a suspension off the back of three yellow cards this season.
After the game, the seething Argentine used his post-match interview to rip into his side, whilst also claiming that they would be back in training as soon as the day after their loss.
It has since emerged that this did not happen, with the logistics of the season obviously not on the mind of the boss after he made those comments.
Pochettino future
Following a loss of that magnitude for Chelsea, there are unfortunately always going to be questions regarding the manager and if his job is under any form of scrutiny.
Romano has claimed however that this is not the case right now.
He said: “The feedback is still the same on Chelsea’s side, and they trust Mauricio Pochettino. They believe he is the right man for this project. It’s a young team, and they need time. His job is not at risk at this point.”
Anyone who did fall into that category would do well to remember the form the side showed before the international break.
They went toe-to-toe with two title contenders in Tottenham and Manchester City and took four points from those games, suggesting the work they are putting in is certainly capable of pulling off big results.
