Report: £58m Chelsea player could make his debut for Mauricio Pochettino’s side against Newcastle
Reports have claimed that Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia could actually make his debut for the club a lot sooner than many thought.
According to the Evening Standard, the summer signing could make his debut for the Blues this weekend against Newcastle United at the weekend.
Lavia was one of the highlight additions of a very busy summer transfer window, with him coming to Stamford Bridge from under the noses of Liverpool.

The Reds couldn’t make their mind up on whether they wanted to cough up the remaining few million for the teenager, and Chelsea swooped in with a £58m move to bring him in.
He swiftly followed the addition of Moises Caicedo, who also selected to represent Chelsea despite heavy interest from Liverpool.
Just weeks after joining though, Lavia suffered an injury in training that many feared could keep him out for the rest of this calendar year.
Lavia could be fit for Newcastle
His luck was similar to Christopher Nkunku’s, who also is yet to make his competitive debut for the club after picking up a serious injury.
The Frenchman is reportedly getting closer to making his own return, although those at the club are wary not to risk him too early after his long layoff.
While this will likely not let him feature at the weekend, it has been claimed that it may not be too early for Lavia if required.
Chelsea’s first choice midfielders, Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are currently in the process of a gruelling international break in South America, which could see them not at 100% come the weekend.
While Lavia may become an option, it may be advisable to look towards the likes of Lesley Ugochukwu to replace either of them due to his match fitness and lack of injury risk.
