Report: Chelsea eyeing up January signing which they think can transform their season

Reports have claimed that Chelsea have a signing in mind that they believe will completely transform their season.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues believe the addition of the right striker to their current squad has the ability to completely turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino and co will be feeling disappointed with how the first half of the season has gone, with on paper the Blues not being any higher really than they were at the end of last season.

However, on the pitch it will be noted that they have put in some much better displays, with it often coming undone in the final moments.

This has normally been down to the man up front, with Nicolas Jackson brunting a lot of criticism so far this season.

Last night’s win against Crystal Palace saw the Stamford Bridge faithful begin to make their feelings clear towards the 22-year-old, with Pochettino coming out to defend him after the game.

Chelsea think striker will change their season

However, it has not put a stop to reports that the Blues are looking at adding a striker to their ranks when the window opens again in a few days’ time.

It has now been claimed that some at the club are of the belief that the right addition next month has the potential to completely turn things around this season.

Victor Osimhen has been the name strongest linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, however his recently signed new contract at Napoli means they may have to wait until the summer before they explore that avenue.

Another name that has been linked with a move across London is Ivan Toney, with the England international returning to action later next month following his ban that has lasted the length of this season so far.
