'He didn’t speak to me': 29-year-old had a very frosty relationship with Maurizio Sarri while at Chelsea
It is fair to say that Tiemoue Bakayoko did not have a great relationship with one of his managers at Chelsea.
Antonio Conte brought Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea back in 2017 but left the club a year later and was replaced by Maurizio Sarri.
And according to Bakayoko, who has been speaking to L’Equipe, Sarri did not speak to him, which made the midfielder realise he had to leave Stamford Bridge.
He joined AC Milan on loan before temporary moves to AS Monaco, Napoli and another loan at the San Siro.
In total, Bakayoko spent just one season in Chelsea’s first team.
Maurizio Sarri did not speak to Tiemoue Bakayoko
Bakayoko has claimed that Sarri did not even talk to him when they were both at Chelsea.
“Maurizio Sarri arrived with Jorginho, and he didn’t speak to me,” the Frenchman said. “I knew I had to leave. How can I describe my experience at Chelsea? Sometimes I sit on my sofa, think about my career and say to myself: ‘What was the problem?’ “

Tiemoue Bakayoko a disappointing signing for Chelsea
A lot was expected of Bakayoko when he joined Chelsea. He was part of a Monaco side that were able to end Paris Saint-Germain’s dominance of Ligue 1 and make it to the Champions League semi-finals.
In the end, though, he failed to deliver at Stamford Bridge and is now back in France playing for Lorient.
His career has not gone the way he would have wanted it to, but Chelsea deserve a lot of the blame for that.
They kept loaning the France international out instead of selling him. It was quite obvious what they were trying to do. The club wanted him to play well during a loan to restore his value before eventually sanctioning a sale. However, it was a plan that failed miserably, as Bakayoko would go on to join Lorient on a free transfer.
