Chelsea fans all noticed one thing about Thomas Tuchel in the Champions League last night

This season marked the first time in quite a while that Chelsea were not competing in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Instead, the Blues were forced to watch from home as two of their fellow Premier League teams took part in the quarter-finals last night.

They will have seen a familiar figure in the dugout for Arsenal’s opponents last night, with Thomas Tuchel taking charge of Bayern Munich in their away leg.

Chelsea fans on brilliant Tuchel

It is fair to say he had a plan to stop a Gunners side who have been destroying pretty much everyone they play recently, and who are awaiting Chelsea arriving at the Emirates in the coming weeks.

His Bayern side played out a 2-2 draw, putting them in a decent position when the second leg comes around back at home.

This competition is an area where Chelsea fans are more than aware he stars in, having won them the trophy back in 2021.

It didn’t take long for Blues supporters to notice this brilliance yet again, reminiscing on the good times they had when he was in charge.

One user tweeted: “I told them to be careful of Tuchel in the Champions League. He’s a specialist in this competition.”

Another added: “Tuchel in the UCL is a different beast.”

A third stated: “Is true. Tuchel is indeed one of the masters of the Champions League. He knows how to play it.”

Another claimed: “I am quite well and healthy. History will repeat itself. Tuchel is a Champions League master and Chelsea fans will have something to smile about.”

One user also said: “TT doesn’t joke with UCL.”

Finally, one stated: “He’s a cup genius not the best league manager but cups he’s class.”

Pochettino under pressure

The current manager Mauricio Pochettino is under immense pressure at Stamford Bridge, with his side lingering in the mid-table places where he found them in after taking over.

It looks as if it is going to take qualifying for Europe for next season for him to maintian his place at the club, and that at this stage is very much up in the air.

Their best bet may well be via the FA Cup, however they will be more than aware they are likely to need to beat both Manchester sides to complete this.
