Chelsea fans are saying the same thing after Jhon Duran’s Aston Villa display tonight

Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran was in action tonight in a Premier League match against Manchester City. Interestingly, a selection of Chelsea fans on social media were discussing the young striker.

Villa ended up on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat away to Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

Rodri’s opening goal put the hosts in front at the Etihad Stadium before Villa equalised in the 20th minute.

Jhon Duran, who combined for a smart one-two with Morgan Rogers, scored an equalising goal with a powerful left-footed finish into the bottom corner.

However, Phil Foden stole the headlines and earned all three points with a stunning hat-trick for Man City.

Chelsea linked with Jhon Duran in January

Journalist Nathan Gissing claimed via X back in January that Chelsea “discussed internally” Duran as a transfer target for the winter window.

There were several outlets linking the 20-year-old Villa striker as a target for Chelsea, but nothing serious materialised and he ended up staying in the Midlands.

He’s playing second fiddle to Ollie Watkins this campaign, but he looks a huge handful whenever he’s on the football pitch. It’s now six goals across all competitions for the young talent.

Chelsea fans discuss Jhon Duran

Some Blues fans online tonight were saying they rate Villa’s Duran based off his performance against Man City in the league.

Here are some Chelsea fans on X discussing the young Colombian centre-forward:

One fan said: “Duran so fun to watch. Proper number 9.”

Another claimed: “Duran is really really good.”

A third wrote: “Duran great finish! Chelsea scouts were cooking.”

Another posted: “This Jhon Duran guy isn’t looking that bad! Just made and scored an amazing great link up goal.”

A fifth supporter shared: “Duran is literally a world class striker in the making lol.”

Another said: “Duran is so good man.”
