‘I was so glad’: Micah Richards shares what Mauricio Pochettino just did at Chelsea that he absolutely loved

Pundit Micah Richards has now shared something that Mauricio Pochettino did at Chelsea recently which he thought was brilliant.

He told ‘The Rest is Football’ that something the boss did after the thumping win over Everton left him absolutely delighted.

Chelsea pulled out the performance and result many believed they had been threatening since Pochettino took over on Monday night, beating the Toffees 6-0.

Cole Palmer stars for Chelsea

Cole Palmer’s superb four goals were the highlight of the game, putting himself top of the goalscoring charts as far as the Premier League is concerned.

He was even having to fight his own teammates for goals towards the end of the game, with Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson both staking their claim to take a second half penalty.

Palmer eventually pulled rank and continued his record of not missing from the spot, however the manager was clearly not thrilled with the situation that had played out.

Micah Richards impressed by Mauricio Pochettino rant

His furious rant after the game will actually have impressed a number of Chelsea fans, and Richards was another figure who loved what he heard from the Argentine in response to it.

He said: “I was so glad because everyone is talking about Poch as a bit of a soft touch and he could have glossed over it as they had won 6-0 but he made a statement to say this is not good enough and don’t do it again. I thought it was brilliant management.”

Pochettino will now be mulling over his team selection ahead of the Blues’ latest trip to Wembley when they take on Manchester City.

There would certainly be an argument to play the exact same side that dominated Everton earlier this week. However, it has already been claimed that the boss is considering bringing back Enzo Fernandez after he returned to training.

Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo both put in top performances in the middle of the park last time out, and it would feel harsh if either was taken from what looked as if their best position right now.
