Journalist says Chelsea admire the style of ‘excellent’ PL manager, he’s just commented on his future
There’s a current Premier League manager that Chelsea really admire for his style of football.
Blues supporters are regularly discussing the managerial role at Stamford Bridge, with Mauricio Pochettino’s position in the dugout a big talking point in the media.
The Chelsea Chronicle was told last month that there is an expectation that Pochettino will depart the club at the end of the season.
There’s a number of bosses linked as potential replacements, including Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi.

Chelsea admire Roberto De Zerbi style
It’s now been claimed that some at Chelsea do like the way De Zerbi teams set up, which is moulded around possession-based football.
We’re not overly surprised given the amount of Brighton connections now working in senior roles at Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Sami Mokbel has now provided some detail regarding Blues links with the 44-year-old Italian manager.
When asked if there’s any truth if Chelsea links to De Zerbi, Mokbel said: “I think there would be legs to De Zerbi. I think they like the way he plays. I think they like the way his teams play. I think there’s a decent chance that he would leave Brighton if the right opportunity arose. I don’t think that’s a secret. I think he would be on the list if Chelsea do decide to part with Pochettino this summer.”
De Zerbi comments on future this week
It’s good timing that De Zerbi, who’s still got another two years left on his deal at the Amex Stadium, commented this week about his future at Brighton.
Described as “excellent” by Luton Town boss Rob Edwards (Luton Today), De Zerbi is happy on the South Coast.
The young coach has made it pretty clear he wants to remain with the Seagulls despite speculation about his future.
De Zerbi told Sky Sports: “I think I would like to stay in Brighton because I love my players. I love this city. I love my club, my fans.
“I said in the meeting with the fans, if I’m happy, there isn’t any club can bring myself to change a team but I want to keep my passion always.”
