‘Top of the list’: Chelsea want to sign striker who starred against them in the Champions League - journalist
Chelsea have reportedly added a new name to the top of their list when it comes to signing a new striker this summer.
It has been widely reported that new manager Enzo Maresca is not keen on the idea of starting the season with just Nicolas Jackson available as a first team option.
This still suggests that there is little faith that Armando Broja will still be at the club when things get closer to getting underway again.
As far as targets go, a lot of them have been younger players who may have their biggest impact in a couple of years’ time. They have already completed a deal to sign Marc Guiu.
However, journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that the Blues are showing an interest in Karim
Adeyemi, with him now being top of their list.

Chelsea want Karim Adeyemi
He said on Twitter: “Chelsea are increasing their pressure on Karim Adeyemi.
“Constant contacts with the entourage of the Borussia Dortmund winger, now at the top of Chelsea’s list as their main target. Developments expected soon.”
Chelsea fans will be well aware of the quality he possesses after facing him in their last season in the Champions League.
Adeyemi ‘destroyed’ Enzo Fernandez in Champions League
In a tight Round of 16 tie with Borussia Dortmund, the Blues went behind after the German raced away from the likes of Enzo Fernandez to score the only goal of the first leg.
Some went as far to say that the German had ‘destroyed’ the player who had just become the club’s record addition at the time.
Chelsea did go on to win that tie over two legs, however we’re certainly buoyed by the fact Adeyemi was not available for selection at Stamford Bridge.
It remains to be seen if the club spend big on a striker this summer, with them looking at a number of other positions too.
One of those is for an out and out winger, after they missed out on the signing of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich despite prioritising bringing him in.
