'Right now': Jamie O'Hara names the players who should start in Chelsea's best attack

Jamie O’Hara has shared who he thinks Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca should be picking as his best attack right now.

Chelsea quite clearly have an abundance of attacking talent in their squad, with many coming to the party in the side’s emphatic 6-2 Premier League victory away to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

There’s still transfer speculation that is linking the Blues with more reinforcements in a forward position before the window shuts, though. Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol claims via X on Tuesday that Chelsea have made their move to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney, so we’ll see if they’re successful before Friday’s deadline.

Jamie O’Hara names the best Chelsea attack

Jamie O’Hara has named the quartet he thinks should be starting as Chelsea’s best attack in this current moment.

He’s argued that Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke should be on the wings, while Cole Palmer operates in a No.10 behind central striker Nicolas Jackson.

“That right there, what I saw today [against Wolves] is probably Chelsea’s best team,” O’Hara told Sky Sports.

“[Moises] Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer as a 10, [Noni] Madueke on the right, [Pedro] Neto on the left, and Nicolas Jackson up front. That is their best team right now. The other players have got to try get in the team.”

Build the attack around Cole Palmer

The starting point for Chelsea should be with Palmer as the first name on the team sheet.

Speaking on his podcast recently, John Obi Mikel called for Palmer to play centrally, something he did to great effect versus Wolves. Therefore, it would be great to see the Englishman starting in the No.10 playmaker position week in week out.

Neto, Madueke and Jackson certainly deserve starts in next weekend’s league fixture versus Crystal Palace before an international break.

However, if you look further forward, the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix will feel they’ve got enough ability to force their way into the best starting line-up.
