Chelsea squad numbers 2024/25 as Jadon Sancho takes Mason Mount's former shirt

Here is all the information you need on Chelsea’s squad numbers ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Blues supporters have been lucky enough to watch some of the world’s best players over the years, and many have made squad numbers their own.

John Terry is synonymous with the number 26, while Frank Lampard will always be remembered with an eight on his back.

Didier Drogba – arguably Chelsea’s greatest striker – can be pictured wearing the number 11 as he lifted the Champions League title.

Everything you need to know about the Blues’ squad number history and the current 2024/25 squad numbers is below, with new signing Jadon Sancho taking Mason Mount’s former shirt.

1 – Robert Sanchez

Previously worn by: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Petr Cech, Peter Bonetti

Robert Sanchez was demoted to second-choice goalkeeper by Mauricio Pochettino last season after some costly mistakes but he appears to be Enzo Maresca’s number one.

2 – Axel Disasi

Previously worn by: Antonio Rudiger, Branislav Ivanovic, Glen Johnson, Dan Petrescu

Axel Disasi chose the number two shirt upon arrival from AS Monaco last summer.

3 – Marc Cucurella

Previously worn by: Marcos Alonso, Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge

The number three shirt is worn by Marc Cucurella, who took over from fellow Spaniard Marcos Alonso.

The number seven is typically worn by wingers but the best Chelsea players to wear the shirt have been central midfielders or strikers. Pedro Neto will try to change that.

Enzo Fernandez switched from Chelsea’s number five to Lampard’s former number eight shirt in 2023.
