Enzo Maresca spotted working closely with two Chelsea players ahead of Carabao Cup tie with Newcastle
Chelsea will be facing familiar opponents when they return to Carabao Cup action tomorrow night against Newcastle.
The Blues just beat Eddie Howe’s side at Stamford Bridge in a hard-fought affair, where Cole Palmer’s brilliance was the real difference between the sides.
There will no doubt be plenty of changes made to the starting side by Enzo Maresca as the competition changes. The Chelsea Chronicle have predicted Jadon Sancho will get his chance to regain his place in the starting side.

The defence is a position where change can certainly be expected. It is already known that Wesley Fofana’s minutes are being carefully managed at the moment.
Enzo Maresca spotted working closely with Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile
Levi Colwill has been crucial this season too, and is likely to be handed a rest ahead of the return to the Premier League against Manchester United.
Two players who will be hoping this opens up an opportunity for them are Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo. Their minutes have mostly come in the cup competitions so far.
Pictures on the club’s 5th Stand App have perhaps hinted that they could both be in for a start tomorrow night, with Maresca being picoted issuing instructions to the pair of them.
Big competition for places in defence at Chelsea
Competition for places is high at centre-back at the moment, however Maresca has mostly stuck with the same pairing when available.
It has been reported that Axel Disasi is at the bottom of the list when it comes to potential starters, with the majority of his minutes coming at right-back.
With both Malo Gusto and Reece James starting the Premier League game against Newcastle, there is a big chance that the Frenchman begins tomorrow night with him really feeling like he has a point to prove.
Badiashile’s performances have been improving as of late, and this has seen him perhaps remain in the manager’s thinking a lot higher.
