Chelsea are showing serious interest in signing ‘incredible’ £38m Premier League defender

Chelsea are likely to only act in the January transfer window if the perfect opportunity arises for a new signing.

Instead, there is likely to be more of an appetite for the Blues to sell some of the players who are simply not in their plans going forwards.

Great efforts were made to sell Ben Chilwell even after the transfer window closed in England, however he remains at Stamford Bridge.

The England international already sits behind Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga in the pecking order for left-backs at the club, although Enzo Maresca has looked another way in his recent Premier League games.

He has instead decided to play both Malo Gusto and Reece James in that position with mixed levels of success.

Chelsea showing serious interest in Rayan Ait-Nouri

There have been questions as to why this has been the preferred method, however it is not clear if this is because the manager has a lack of belief that his current options can pull off what he is asking from that position.

If not, he may look to the transfer market, with talk beginning to build about interest in signing Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The Wolves man has enjoyed a strong season despite his side’s shortcomings. Manager Gary O’Neill has previously described him as ‘incredible’.

According to Molineux News, the Blues hold a serious interest in signing Ait-Nouri, with his future looking unclear.

Chelsea have previously been linked with the signing of the left-sided star before, with a fee of around £38m being discussed.

Ait-Nouri struggled against Noni Madueke

Despite his strong performances, Chelsea fans may remember him for having a horrid time defending Noni Madueke at Molineux earlier this season.

The winger scored three to kickstart his personal campaign, and has very rarely been outside of the starting side since that day.

Ait-Nouri’s attacking threat was even clear to see in that 6-2 defeat though. He provided an assist in the first half.
