Kobbie Mainoo shares what he told Cole Palmer straight after he scored in Euro 2024 final
Chelsea’s normal healthy England representation is down to just a single member for the upcoming Nations League games against Greece and Ireland.
Noni Madueke will be the sole Blues representative, after Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer pulled out from representing their nation over the next week.
Palmer was spotted limping away from Stamford Bridge after their last Premier League game against Arsenal, and it is probably best for him that he gets two weeks away from match action.

England will be without their player of the year for 2024 for some must-win Nations League games, with his influence on his nation being no clearer than when they played in the Euro 2024 final against Spain.
The Chelsea man scored in just his third appearance in the competition, finding the net from range to keep belief high that they could finally break their international tournament duck.
Kobbie Mainoo told Cole Palmer to do his celebration
While that ecstasy didn’t last, one player who was quick to be involved in the celebrations was Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, who had just been substituted on the day.
Mainoo has now stated that he told Palmer to do his celebration as well as his own, saying he obliged too.
He told British GQ: “I ran to the byline, told Cole to do my celebration as well – which he did. I was gassed.”
Palmer looking to do more in big games
Honours were shared when Palmer and Mainoo’s club sides met recently in the Premier League, with Moises Caicedo’s stunning goal bringing the Blues back into the game at Old Trafford.
Palmer will be hoping to have more of an effect on some of the big games Chelsea are playing this season, with him unable to find the net against Manchester City, United, Arsenal or Liverpool.
John Obi Mikel has asked for more from Palmer in big games, although the evidence from last season suggests this is not impossible to contribute.
