Report: Chelsea have sent scouts to watch ‘stratospheric’ midfielder ahead of potential January move

Chelsea are likely to only strike in the January transfer window if the perfect opportunity arises.

After what was a fairly gung-ho start to life in the transfer market following the acquisition of the club by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, it has become a far more streamlined process of late.

In Enzo Maresca’s first window in charge of Chelsea, deals were only really done with the intention of plugging a gap in the first team squad, or making an investment into a seriously exciting talent for the future.

Perhaps the most intriguing addition they made hasn’t even made an appearance for the club yet, although there is great promise in the signing of Estevao Willian for the future.

Chelsea have scouted Reda Belahyane

It looks as if the Blues are not done when it comes to snapping up some the top talents in world football, and they are now reportedly showing an interest in signing Hellas Verona midfielder Reda Belahyane.

According to CalcioHellas, the Blues have had scouts in attendance to watch the 20-year-old in action.

There is a lot of excitement over the prospect of Belahyane. His current club manager has previously described him as a ‘stratospheric’ talent.

The midfield at Chelsea already has its own selection headaches for Maresca, as he looks to conjure up the perfect combination between three supremely talented players.

Andrey Santos set to join Chelsea first team soon

Moises Caicedo is easily one of the first names on the teamsheet at the moment, however in recent weeks it has been Romeo Lavia paired alongside him rather than Enzo Fernandez.

The Argentine has responded well with a number of assists in his two last outings off the bench, however Fernandez endured a mixed evening while on international duty last night.

Andrey Santos is also showing great signs while on loan at Strasbourg, and he will surely be making the move to the first team at the end of this season.
