Chelsea star Cole Palmer leads all Premier League players in four areas so far in December
Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer quickly put to rest this year any fears that he may be a one-season wonder.
What Cole Palmer achieved last season during his first year at Chelsea was incredible, becoming the talisman at Stamford Bridge with so many top-class performances. As we approach the halfway point of the 2024/25 campaign, the 22-year-old playmaker has been equally instrumental this term.
In 16 league games this season, Palmer has scored 11 goals and created six assists.
Premier League clubs think Palmer could lead Chelsea to the title, with his side currently sitting second in the division table.

Cole Palmer tops several Premier League statistics in December
Like everybody else, Chelsea’s December schedule has been packed with games. Therefore, it’s great news that Palmer is currently operating near his top level.
The left-footed playmaker had one of his quieter displays during Sunday’s 2-1 home win against Brentford, but the statistics show he’s still been outstanding so far this month.
OptaJoe has shared via X that Palmer leads all Premier League players in four different attacking departments this month. There’s nobody in the division that has scored more, attempted more shots, had more shots on target, or created more chances than the Chelsea star in December.
Ben Foster recently raved about Chelsea’s Palmer by saying there’s not a single player in the Premier League he’d want in his team more than him.
Palmer would surely love to continue his December form all the way up until the New Year. Interestingly, the Blues still have league games this month versus Everton (away), Fulham (home) and Ipswich Town (away).
Cole Palmer shining for Chelsea
Palmer is one of several players at Stamford Bridge right now enjoying their top form. It’s why they’ve currently got a 100 per cent record in December.
Here is a look at the English star’s contributions for Chelsea so far this month:
| Fixture | Minutes played | Goals | Assists | Match rating |
| Chelsea 2-1 Brentford | 90 | 0 | 0 | 7.9 |
| Tottenham 3-4 Chelsea | 89 | 2 | 0 | 9.4 |
| Southampton 1-5 Chelsea | 79 | 1 | 0 | 7.9 |
| Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa | 86 | 1 | 1 | 8.8 |
England boss Thomas Tuchel admits Chelsea’s Palmer is on form right now for his club. Hopefully, the pair hit it off for the national side when they meet up for the first time in 2025.
