John Obi Mikel takes hilarious dig at Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham tactics in interview with Jose Mourinho
John Obi Mikel has not been afraid to be critical of what is currently going on at Chelsea following his long and successful career with the club.
The club legend has not been hesitant in calling out shortcomings at Stamford Bridge in comparison to when he was playing.
Mikel has gripes with the direction they are going under the current manager. He stated Enzo Maresca would have already been sacked if Roman Abramovich was still in charge.
The players have not escaped criticism from the Nigerian either. Mikel slated Reece James for not being able to be a leader despite being Chelsea captain.

Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel aims dig at Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham
Mikel is always full of praise for his time at the club, with a lot of that tenure coming under the management of Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese boss enjoyed a highly successful time at Stamford Bridge. Petr Cech is one of the players who believes Mourinho was one of his favourite managers.
Despite remaining a popular figure amongst Chelsea fans, their former manager was actually in charge of two of their biggest rivals – Tottenham and Manchester United.
Both sides are in far worse situations than the Blues right now, much to the amusement of Blues supporters.
Mikel couldn’t resist making a dig at Spurs in his latest podcast, where he interviewed Mourinho about his time in the game.

After the former midfielder asked about a preference for defence or attack, Mourinho told ‘The Obi One Podcast’: “If you only defend, you need to be very lucky to win. If you only attack, you need to be very lucky to win or very dominant… your team is much better than the others.
“It’s difficult for me to answer because you have to find a balance. If you ask me whether I prefer to see the ball close to our goal or close to the opponent’s goal… but you still have to think about transition.”
Mikel replied: “Exactly. And that’s what Spurs don’t do right now.”
Jose Mourinho’s record at Chelsea vs at Tottenham
Three league titles and three League Cups were very impressive achievements for Mourinho at Chelsea, while his trophy cabinet was not added to during his time in North London.
He also achieved a far better record across both of his times at Stamford Bridge than his time at Spurs.
| Jose Mourinho managerial record | Games | Wins | Draws | Losses | Points per game |
| Chelsea (2004-2007) | 185 | 124 | 38 | 23 | 2.22 |
| Chelsea (2013-2015) | 136 | 80 | 27 | 29 | 1.96 |
| Tottenham | 86 | 45 | 17 | 24 | 1.77 |
Mourinho’s points per game is impressive at Chelsea when taking into account the nightmare season in 2015/16, where he was sacked and left the side in 16th in the league.
Mikel has already stated that he believes Maresca can learn from Mourinho, with him needing to turn things around pretty sharp if they are going to finish in the top four this season.
