Frank Lampard's Coventry City play-off hopes could have just been ruined by history-making former Chelsea youngster
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has led a sensational turnaround since taking his current job as manager of Coventry City.
Despite the Championship sides flirting with the relegation places when he took over, his side sit in the play-off spots with just one game of the season to go.
Coventry and Chelsea fans have been wowed by the impact Lampard has had, with him hoping he will be preparing for his second set of play-offs in the second division of English football.
His side have become accustomed to scoring late goals this season, with Lampard’s frenetic celebrations becoming a bit of a theme for the season.
The Englishman will have been hoping that his side would have already secured their place in the top six after facing relegation-threatened Luton Town at the same time Chelsea were picking up an important win over Everton.

Frank Lampard’s play-off hopes dented by former Chelsea academy star
However, Lampard’s side were defeated 1-0, with it this time their turn to concede late after going down to 10 men early in the game.
It was Jay Dasilva who was sent off, with the full-back being a product of the Chelsea academy before leaving the club.
Dasilva has been playing a key role under Lampard in a number of positions, however his red card has contributed to them now looking over their shoulder at the chasing pack.

Record-breaking Jay Dasilva
Dasilva was involved in one of the best young sides Chelsea ever produced through Cobham, winning a plethora of competitions.
The academy graduate boasts a record that only seven players in history can by winning three youth FA Cups, with Jake Clarke-Salter the other to do so with Chelsea.
Dasilva has been crucial to Lampard’s plans at Coventry this season, but he won’t be able to have a say on the final game of the season next weekend against Middlesbrough.
