Report: Arsenal could actually bail Chelsea out this summer by signing their big-money flop

Chelsea are going to feel the difficulty of looking to sell a plethora of players who are out of form this summer.

The Blues face the tricky task of finding a new home for Joao Felix, after it became clear he would not be joining AC Milan on a permanent basis.

The difficulty of having a variety of individuals out on loan will eventually catch up with them, as they look to make some money in order to strengthen the team for Enzo Maresca.

However, Todd Boehly and co may have to accept that they are going to lose money on a number of those they do sell.

One of those who is likely to be in the shop window is Christopher Nkunku, despite being the club’s joint top scorer in all competitions.

Arsenal could bail out Enzo Maresca by signing Christopher Nkunku

The relationship between the club and the player seems to be wavering more than ever. Maresca left Nkunku out of the squad to face Fulham.

With the Frenchman expected to be on the move this summer, the Blues will have to wait and see which sides are interested in a deal.

According to RMC Sport, there could be an unlikely offer from Arsenal, following their interest that came during the winter transfer window.

The report goes on to say that Bayern Munich are also expected to return with interest after looking at signing him in January.

It has previously been claimed that Chelsea have set their price for Nkunku to leave at the end of the season, with them prepared to take a significant loss on the signing.

Recent business between Chelsea and Arsenal

There have been some significant moves between the two sides over the years, with one of the biggest recently being the sale of Kai Havertz from Stamford Bridge.

In a similar vein to Nkunku, the German was underperforming at Stamford Bridge, however has somewhat found his feet under Mikel Arteta.

Chelsea made an effort to cash in on a wantaway youngster from the Emirates a few seasons ago by bringing in Omari Hutchinson on a free transfer.

After limited first team minutes he was sold to Ipswich for a significant profit, however came back to haunt Chelsea when he scored against them in a 2-0 win back in December.
