The referee who has given Enzo Maresca two yellow cards this season as Chelsea boss receives touchline ban
While Chelsea were able to beat Fulham 2-1 on Sunday, Enzo Maresca would have left Craven Cottage a bit annoyed.
After celebrating Pedro Neto’s last-minute winner, Maresca was shown a yellow card, his third of the season.
It means the Chelsea head coach will have to serve a touchline ban in his side’s next Premier League fixture, which is against Everton on Saturday.

Two out of the three cautions that Maresca has received this term have come from the same referee.

Anthony Taylor has shown two yellow cards to Enzo Maresca
Chelsea supporters are not fans of Anthony Taylor and they now have another reason to be unhappy with the 46-year-old.
It was Taylor who booked Maresca for his wild celebrations at Craven Cottage on Sunday, the second time he has done so this campaign.
The referee also showed a yellow to the Italian in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Bournemouth at the beginning of the season, while Simon Hooper handed him his other one.
Maresca’s ban comes at the worst possible time, with the Blues not in a position to drop points.
While Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League table, which is the final Champions League spot, they will be overtaken by Nottingham Forest if Nuno Espirito Santo’s men take something away from their game against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Ultimately, with things being so tight at the top, Chelsea need to beat Everton this Saturday. But they are going to have to do it without their manager in the dugout.

How Enzo Maresca is currently viewed in the game
It has been a really up and down season for Maresca and Chelsea, a season that could end in failure.
Chelsea’s goal heading into the campaign was qualifying for the Champions League, but there is no guarantee that they will do that.
Despite their inconsistency, though, Maresca is still admired by other clubs. So if the former Leicester City manager is ever sacked by Chelsea, it looks like he will have options.
