‘In with a chance’: Alan Shearer shares clear blueprint for Chelsea to beat PSG in Club World Cup final
Chelsea are seen by many as the underdogs going into the Club World Cup final against PSG, however Alan Shearer believes the task is by no means impossible for the Blues at the MetLife stadium.
The Blues have avoided a number of big opponents on their route to the final so far, however have been relatively comfortable against the sides put in front of them after finishing second in their group.
Thiago Silva led Fluminense past Inter Milan in the knockout stages to set up a semi-final tie with Chelsea, where Joao Pedro scored twice to knock out his former side.
The Champions League winners meanwhile put the rest of world football on notice after they destroyed Real Madrid in the semi-final, with many predicting Chelsea are in for a similar outcome on Sunday night.

Alan Shearer tells Chelsea how to beat PSG in Club World Cup final
Shearer however believes the Blues can watch how Xabi Alonso’s side played against them last time out and take a completely different approach to get a result in the final.
He told ‘The Rest is Football’ that their best bet is hitting PSG on the counter attack, looking to catch them out after they enjoy waves of possession.
He said: “If they go head-to-head and match them then I can see another result like Real Madrid. But it they’re savvy and clever and sit and try and hit them on the break and soak up pressure, then yeah I would think they’re in with a chance.”
Former Chelsea and PSG star Silva said he can’t pick a personal favourite for the game, with him having a clear admiration for both sides after successful spells at both.

Chelsea team news for Club World Cup
There were fears after the semi-final that Moises Caicedo wouldn’t be fit for the biggest game of the tournament after he limped off in the final moments against Fluminense.
However, the Ecuador international has been in training in the days leading up to the game, and is expected to feature in the heart of midfield.
Romeo Lavia is unlikely to feature though, after Enzo Maresca confirmed he was training away from the first team squad due to a small problem.
Dario Essugo is also injured, with him now having to wait until the new Premier League season before he features again.
