Jamie Gittens shares what Enzo Maresca did to convince him Chelsea were the 'perfect' club for him
Chelsea have just announced their third big signing of the summer transfer window in the form of Jamie Gittens.
After already bringing in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, Chelsea have further added to their attacking talent with Gittens, who was spotted on the pitch celebrating their Club World Cup win against Palmeiras.
The winger is not eligible to take part in the rest of the Blues’ campaign in the United States due to already featuring in the competition for Borussia Dortmund.
However, Chelsea fans will already be excited about the prospect of the unstoppable attack Enzo Maresca can field when they take on Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season.

Jamie Gittens says Enzo Maresca convinced him Chelsea were ‘perfect’ for him
It is clear that the club are willing to back the manager with their signings this summer. Maresca is a noted fan of Pedro, having already worked with Delap through the Manchester City academy system.
Gittens himself has claimed that the Italian played a big role in convincing him that Stamford Bridge was the right place for him to go.
He said to the Chelsea website: “Enzo Maresca was obviously showing me the way that Chelsea played and the way he has to play with wingers. The system is built for wingers to attack their full-backs and create stuff. And I thought doing it with Enzo in this system is the perfect fit for me.”
With no Jadon Sancho at the club anymore, the Blues had been lacking an option to play on the left wing, where Gittens stars.

Chelsea very excited by Gittens signing
With it all change in the frontline at Chelsea, the club are very positive about the direction they are going with their new signings.
Chelsea believe Gittens can instantly lift their levels, with one of their current widemen looking like he could be on the move this summer.
Noni Madueke has agreed personal terms over a move to Arsenal, with a bid expected from the North London club soon.
Maresca has made it clear he only wants players who are 100% committed to the cause, meaning this move is very likely to happen.
