Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing about Kendry Paez following full Strasbourg debut
Chelsea signing Kendry Paez made his first start for Strasbourg on Sunday in their 1-0 win over Nantes.
Paez officially joined Chelsea during this transfer window after turning 18 in May, but the Blues have loaned him to their sister club over in France so he can get regular game time.
It looks like Paez will get just that, with the attacker appearing in both of Strasbourg’s first two Ligue 1 fixtures.
Paez wanted to stay at Chelsea this season, but a year at Strasbourg is likely to be better for his development.
Chelsea fans convinced Kendry Paez is the real deal
It is early days, but Chelsea’s decision to send Paez to Strasbourg looks like it was the right one.
The Ecuadorian put in a good performance against Nantes, impressing Chelsea supporters in the process. After watching his latest display, for many of them, he is the real deal.
On X, one Chelsea fan wrote: “Kendry Paez is an absolute baller, can’t wait for the Chelsea 2026 season.”
Another said: “Kendry Paez is who we think he is fellas, he will make it at Chelsea.”
One Chelsea supporter praised the club for landing Paez, saying: “Kendry Paez is a superstar in the making, BlueCo have done it again.”
Another user on X posted: “Kendry has been impressive for Strasbourg against Nantes.”
One Chelsea supporter sent a message about Paez to the whole football world. “Kendry Paez, be psyched about him.”
For another, Paez brings so much entertainment to the football pitch. “Kendry Paez is a joy to watch, balling hard for Strasbourg.”
While Chelsea loaned out Paez, they decided to keep hold of Estevao Willian, who is already making an impact under Enzo Maresca. The winger was able to provide an assist in Chelsea’s 5-1 win against West Ham United last Friday.
After the game, Marc Cucurella praised Estevao, describing the 18-year-old as “very mature”.
The big concern Chelsea supporters will have about Kendry Paez’s long-term development
Understandably, Chelsea fans are excited about Paez and what he could bring to the Chelsea first team.
At the same time, though, some will have concerns about his development once he returns to Stamford Bridge.
For example, Xavi Simons could easily interfere with Paez’s progress. The two are attacking midfielders who are both still very young.
If Chelsea do go on to sign Simons, you have to wonder how Paez is going to get game time in a squad that possesses the Dutchman, Cole Palmer and Estevao.
