Estevao Willian gets off to perfect start at Chelsea as details of first training session emerge

Chelsea finally officially announced the signing of one of the most promising youngsters in world football on Tuesday, and he has seemed to hit the ground running with his new club.

Estevao Willian was finally unveiled by the club after playing his last game for Palmeiras against the Blues during the Club World Cup.

Estevao was pictured in Chelsea training gear ahead of his announcement, as the rest of the first team squad returned to pre-season training less than two weeks before the new Premier League season gets underway.

As the likes of Wesley Fofana returned after a prolonged injury spell, the Chelsea players will have got a first look at the Brazilian on their side, after so many had witnessed him playing against them in the Club World Cup quarter-finals.

Estevao Willian on winning team in first Chelsea training session

Enzo Maresca threw the youngster straight in with the first teamers, and it looks as if he has made an instant impact amongst his new teammates.

As per Dario Essugo’s Instagram story, Estevao was part of the team which won their competition during the second training session back from the summer break.

The Brazilian was in a side that included Essugo, Robert Sanchez, Josh Acheampong, Joao Pedro, Reece James and Marc Cucurella.

The post also proved that the young midfielder had returned from his injury problems that kept him out the latter stages of the Club World Cup.

Chelsea’s plans for Estevao

Despite fellow promising youngsters such as Kendry Paez and Mike Penders being sent on loan for the upcoming season, this is not what is going to happen with the winger.

While he will remain at Stamford Bridge for the 2025/26 season, the plan is for Maresca to ease Estevao into action. There are already plenty of quality attackers available for selection.

However, with a stacked season and trophies to win on four fronts for the Blues, there will be opportunities for the Brazil international to make his mark on his new side.

With pre-season friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan to come this weekend, expect to see Estevao involved in some capacity at his new home.
