Tottenham fans preparing for Willian 2.0 as they believe ‘exceptional’ player is joining Chelsea

Tottenham are pushing to make one more attacking signing before the summer transfer window slams shut, however their supporters believe Chelsea could yet be a thorn in their side.

The Blues are keen on bringing more attacking talent in, however have seen any progress halted by their inability to finalise player sales in recent weeks.

However, they may well be getting a boost as Christopher Nkunku looks bound for AC Milan, freeing the Blues up to make another signing.

Alejandro Garnacho has been mentioned as a long-term target by the club, and Enzo Maresca is keen for another winger before Monday’s deadline.

Tottenham fans preparing to lose out on Xavi Simons to Chelsea

Xavi Simons has also been near the top of their shortlist throughout this summer window, with terms being agreed with the player for some time now.

Tottenham have also emerged as suitors for the RB Leipzig man, however Spurs fans believe they are in line to get hurt again, predicting he will move instead to Chelsea.

One user said: “I’m prepared for Willian 2.0.”

Another added: “He’s definitely going to Chelsea. No need to get your hopes up. It’s no coincidence that the moment the Nkunku deal started to accelerate this happened.”

A third claimed: “If that’s the headline, then he’s off to Chelsea… we very rarely beat them to a transfer target.”

Another user stated: “Going to Chelsea let’s not kid ourselves here…. Let’s move on.”

Finally, one user said: “Good luck at Chelsea mate. See you in November.”

Former Chelsea star Willian looked set to join Spurs before the Blues hijacked the move, providing content for one of Stamford Bridge’s most iconic chants over the last few years.

Xavi Simons’ stance on joining Chelsea or Spurs

The Dutchman will clearly be frustrated that he has so far not moved from Leipzig, something which has been expected to happen throughout the summer.

Despite interest from Spurs, Simons still prefers a move to Chelsea, however the Blues will need to come up with an offer soon to not lose out on a long-term target.

Thomas Frank’s side are keen on signing someone after missing out on a host of targets this season, including Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White.

Chelsea will hope to add both Garnacho and Simons to their squad before Monday, however even though Nkunku looks to be moving it may rely on Nicolas Jackson also getting his expected move away from Stamford Bridge.
