Some Chelsea fans have chosen their Enzo Maresca replacement after devastating Brighton defeat

Chelsea’s defeat to Brighton was the final straw for some supporters, who are calling for a new name to take over the reins at Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Maresca was abused by Chelsea fans towards the end of their damning home loss to the Seagulls, with them capitulating for the second time in a week with 10 men on the pitch.

Trevoh Chalobah’s red card helped what looked a routine victory turn into a very damning loss for the Blues, as they continued their nightmare month in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Some have had sympathy for the scenarios surrounding Chelsea’s recent defeats, however there has been criticism of Maresca’s substitutions in both defeats as he reacted to the red cards.

For a section of supporters though, they have seen enough of Maresca, and want a change just months after the Italian delivered two trophies to the club.

Chelsea fans want Cesc Fabregas to replace Enzo Maresca as manager

Some fans have taken to social media to state that former midfielder Cesc Fabregas should be the one to take over in West London.

One user posted a photo of Fabregas, simply saying: “Your club needs you…”

Another user added: “Cesc Fabregas on the touchline at Stamford Bridge, I need this man back as Chelsea Manager. I’m sick and tired of Maresca, he’s got no b—-, a coward, he wants to get sacked himself now. Get our real midfielder here.”

A third stated: “Chelsea will repeat the 2012 miracle season. Maresca will be sacked and Fabregas will come in and give us the Champions League trophy. You saw it here first.”

Another claimed: “Only a matter of time before Chelsea sack Maresca and replace him with Fabregas.”

Finally, one user said: “Fabregas for Chelsea coaching job. Maresca out.”

Fabregas’ record in management

Fabregas has only been a manager for just over a season now, taking over at Como after a spell as assistant coach.

In his time in charge, he has enjoyed a positive record with the Serie A side, winning 23 and drawing 16 of his 60 games at the helm.

Despite his inexperience, Fabregas has been linked to high-profile jobs already, showing just how highly he is thought of already as a head coach.

Fabregas is clearly a promising manager, however the decision to replace Maresca would be bordering on stupidity right now, with the Spaniard needing more experience before he can truly succeed in a job the magnitude of Chelsea boss.
