A poor run of form has not left Chelsea owner Todd Boehly wanting to make any drastic moves involving manager Enzo Maresca’s future.
The Blues are off to a poor start to the season in the Premier League, winning just two of their first six games of the season and tasting defeat to Brighton at the weekend.
Chelsea fans began to turn on Maresca after the loss at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, the second game in a row where they had been impacted by a red card.
Injuries are beginning to play a part too. Levi Colwill is out for the majority of the season, while Cole Palmer and Liam Delap are currently on the sidelines too.

As some supporters call for the likes of Cesc Fabregas to take over, top journalists have been told that there are no plans in West London to make a change at the helm.
Matt Law has stated that the major reason the board are in agreement right now is due to the recovery that the side made last season from a far worse situation gives them faith that the same can happen again from this situation.
He said: “Understand Enzo Maresca retains the full faith of the Chelsea board and sporting directors. No sense of panic over mini-slump particularly after the much bigger slump Maresca and his team recovered from last season. Injuries and red cards seen as biggest factor in recent results. Chelsea’s aim remains to finish inside top four and have a run in the cups.”
Chelsea endured a run around the start of 2025 where they won just three games in 12, one of them being against Morecambe in the FA Cup.
Maresca facing huge test against familiar face
Maresca’s next game as Chelsea boss comes in the Champions League, when the Blues will welcome Jose Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge as Benfica manager.
Maresca has already said he is excited to face Mourinho, however the former boss would love nothing more than to pile more misery on the Italian.
Defeat to Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League game makes this match crucial for Chelsea to get a result from in order to not fall behind in the group stages.
Even if the backing is there from above, the boss faces a task keeping the Chelsea supporters onboard, and a big win in Europe will be the best way to kick that off.
